Okay, so after a month-long hiatus, I'm back to working on this thing. Scanned in a new version of the pencils today and slapped some color in there to figure out the scheme and lighting... Still working out the lighting.
Some of the perspective and such is still "off." Worm still looks like he's getting stepped on. Irritates the crap out of me, but I'm just going to push forward. It's just fanart - not like I can put it in my portfolio or anything.
I want to paint this in Painter simply because I could get some real nice texture in there with the different types of paper and brushes.
The real question is, will it be another month before I get to sit down and actually paint this thing?
You're doing well with capturing the textures, as well as that stylized illustration. Amazingly well done. I have an idea for Worm if you want help. But I never force critique.
Hey, hit me with it. My biggest concern about moving Worm is possibly wrecking my composition, but I may be able to keep a good comp intact with some effort.
After all, after I finally get back to this in a month, I may be in a mood to do major changes, roffle my waffle.
I think that perhaps Grasshopper's heel is not showing enough, thusly putting it enough in the background to interfere with Worm. If you could tilt his heel down a bit to be solidly on the rail, it would give more of the illusion that he's in the foreground. It shouldn't be too much of a modification and I think you can pull it off.
And that's what sucks about doing art just for yourself. God help you if you can find the time to work on it. ._.
I do what I can... And sometimes, its easier for other people to notice stuff, since they haven't been staring at it for hours. Otherwise, I adore this picture, even though I can barely remember the movie.

My art is miam
I really, really hope it turns out awesome in the end. I'm painting the final as 24"x36", so I can print it out and hang it up somewhere.
