~angelliv was running a sketch challenge where, each week, she would throw out an idea, and those of us partaking of the challenge would have to sketch something based on it.

The first two weeks, I got the challenges done on time, but was really dissatisfied with the drawings for one reason or another (I had multiple attempts at both.) In the following weeks, I found myself struggling with a severe drawing block; I hated everything I drew, even if it was a decent drawing. I had ideas for the challenges, but couldn't ever get them down on paper the way I wanted.

Fortunately, something finally snapped into place this last Saturday, and I was able to blaze through the other eight sketches. Awesome!

Anyway, I've listed the weekly challenges below, along with links to the individual drawings in my Scraps, which have more information about each.

1) Draw yourself as a steampunk character. [link]

2) Pick a song to listen to, and draw whatever comes to mind. [link]

3) Draw a recent dream, or one you remember from the past. [link]

4) Draw a scene from a book. [link]

5) Draw an evil version of yourself. [link]

6) Design a monster, using things around you as inspiration. [link]

7) Design a character that represents an emotion (I did three... But it was too fun to stop at one!) [link]

8) Draw your pet as a human. [link]

9) Draw something in celebration of the New Year! (Must contain an ox to represent the animal in the upcoming Chinese New Year.) [link]

10) Draw yourself with your favorite cartoon character, doing an activity that the character normally does (I don't really have an ultimate favorite character, so I just picked one of many favorites). [link]
